Gibson Bros of Barlestone traded as The Comfort Services although I have also seen them as Comfort Coaches but I have named this posting as per the ticket. Barlestone is a very small village about 12 miles west of Leicester. Comfort Services operated two daily services with double-deckers (including a Crossley) but in the later years I think coaches were used. One service was from Leicester to Market Bosworth via Barlestone and Desford and the second from Leicester to Market Bosworth via Peckleton and Desford. Gibson Bros sold out to Leicester City Transport at the end of the seventies but operated as a subsidiary until October 1982. The only photos of Comfort Services I have been able to find on line are on The Independent Bus website, so needless to say any information regarding the above operator would be gratefully accepted.

Gibson Brothers inherited their two Bosworth Leicester services from Midland ‘Red’ in November 1936 as compensation for the loss of inter-availability of tickets with Leicester & District which had been acquired by BMMO.
In 1963 Gibsons bought the Setright Speed Machines from Brown’s Blue BB1 et seq. and subsequently bought further new machines.
I should have added that Barlestone Wonday belonged to the same owners as Gibson Brothers.
