East Kent Road Car Co Ltd – Setright Speed
Here’s a pair of East Kent Setright Speeds. I think they were issued about 1964 at the end of a (long) day trip from Nottingham to the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch railway. Having walked a seemingly long way from Sandling station to Hythe, we decided that we would return from Folkestone Central – hence my one and only ever ride with East Kent, from Hythe Light Railway Station to Folkestone Bus Station. I’m pretty sure it was one of the ubiquitous AEC Regent V/Park Royal vehicles.

I came across the following ‘Accompanied Luggage’ ticket in the Sidney Page collection that was donated to the Old Bus Tickets website, it seemed a good idea to put it here rather than a separate posting.

The stringent conditions on the reverse of this fascinating ticket bring a whole new meaning and force to the old legal phrase "Caviat emptor." Its pretty certain that absolutely any possible claim is thereby "squashed before its hatched"
